Get a little dose of being a kid again and experience some of the magic of being a Gallagher camper at one of the following awesome camping programs: for grown-ups!
Grownup Camp - A weekend of classic camp activities including sundown and campfire, widegames and sailing, crafts, and chilling on the Adirondacks.
Grownup Expedition - A 5-day, big canoe adventure around the beautiful South Sound.
Grownup Camp
Grownup Camp is a laid-back weekend where you can fill your days with the parts of camp that you love most. There will be activities available to you, as well as flexible time open to new ideas and relaxing with other participants.
A few of the highlights include:
Boating - Explore Case Inlet in one of our amazing boats! Take a day trip with your pals in a 12-seater canoe, enjoy a peaceful kayak along the shoreline, or learn new skills in one of our sailboats.
Crafting - Get creative and make something special to remember your time at Grownup Camp. Let us know ahead of time your craft of choice and we’ll do our best to make it available to you during the session.
Meals - Enjoy meals served in our covered, outdoor dining hall, Sequim! From fresh coffee in the morning to nutritious dinners in the evening sunshine, our cooks will make sure you’re fuelled up with delicious food (and caffeine!) during your stay.
Sundown - Join together with fellow campmates for our traditional sundown ceremony on the shore of Puget Sound. Reflect on the beautiful surroundings, tell stories, and sing along to your favorite camp tunes.
Campfire - End the day in the glow of a roaring campfire. Lead a song or relax and let others take the helm. Watch as the Gallagher sky fills with stars.
Grownup Expedition
Adventures aren’t just for kids. The Camp Gallagher Grown Up Expedition is for our older camp community members who want to connect with the South Sound and create their own “mystic overnight adventure.”
Over the course of five days, you’ll work with your group to power the Gallagher Big Canoe to favorite South Sound sites, set up camp, cook delicious meals, sleep under the stars, and create new memories with friends old and new alike. This expedition is open to any Gallagher adults 30 and older. Daily paddling distance may range from 8 to 17 miles.

How much experience do I need? Am I strong enough?
The grown up expedition is designed for both the beginner and experienced paddler in mind. The big canoe is forgiving to those who are new to paddling form or who haven’t had the chance to canoe in many years, and as you improve your skills, the team will move faster and further together. You should expect to spend the bulk of most days on the water.Where do we sleep? Do we share sleeping space?
We will sleep under the stars each night. Camp Gallagher typically uses a combination of top and bottom tarps for expeditions and there is a shared group space. That said, the group is small enough that camp staff will help the group create a sleeping arrangement that satisfies various needs. Can I bring my cell phone?
You are allowed to bring and use your phone, though we encourage you to consider the way that doing so impacts your experience. We also ask that you listen to camp staff at times when phones must be put away for safety. You assume all risk for damage to your phone and accessories on the trip and there will be many camp sites where you will not have access to electricity for charging. What will we eat?
Expedition food consists of mainly non-perishable foods that are easy to pack in the boat. Meals may include oatmeal with dried fruit, peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers, mac and cheese, foil dinners, camping burritos. And yes, there will be coffee. Are the camp staff “in charge” of me?
The camp staff are on the trip to facilitate and support the group. While they will set the itinerary, they will do so with input from participants. They’ll help the group create norms, get to know each other, and practice boat and navigation skills. As experts on the local campsites, they will provide an orientation at every location and help the group discover site-specific activities. Participants are responsible for managing their own behavior and treatment of other participants, staff, the public, and the natural environment.
